Why take this workshop? Do you know how to understand the unique movements or utterances of someone who is trying to connect to the world around them? Adaptive Interaction, a unique form of communication, offers innovative techniques that are aimed at helping people living with dementia to maintain their place in the social world. This session will explore the many and diverse difficulties encountered when communicating with people in the later stages of dementia and then introduce you to new ways of connecting -truly connecting – with individuals who are difficult to reach. You will learn new strategies and be provided with tools that will help you to understand those in your care and learn new ways to connect and care.
